Kristi Will Spotlights the Views of a Marina Home

With spectacular views of the Marina Green and San Francisco Bay, the interiors of a classic 1939 home required restrained elegance.  In the foyer of the four-story residence, Kristi Will installed a bronze and slumped glass pendant from Hilliard Lamps casting nuanced light on a wrought iron staircase.  To compliment the clients’ collection of contemporary art, she selected transitional styled furnishings.  On the main floor, accents of vermilion punctuate the formal living room’s ivory backdrop.   In the dining room a large layered collage by artist Ashley Collins evokes a pensive mood.  At the rear, the family and kitchen area look outside to a terrace with water features bordered by olive trees.  From the serene upstairs master suite, the homeowners watch ships sailing by.

KWD Fuses Hawaiian Spirit with Mainland Luxury

For a busy San Francisco family, Kristi Will and her team created a Kona-Hualalai vacation home embracing the tranquil Hawaiian lifestyle.  Bracketed by black basalt rock and white beaches with an azure sea beyond and coconut palms above, the spacious house melds simple island architecture with luxurious mainland living.  For the symbiotic interior and exterior rooms, Kristi focused on the timeless materials of teak, walnut, rattan, and bronze.  With a sand and sunset color scheme, the tropical villa features elegant but practical furnishings.  Inside the staggered pavilions KWD paired Newell Design Studio casegoods and custom upholstery, illuminating spaces with Holly Hunt light fixtures.  On the outside lanais and pool area, iconic McGuire lounge furniture entices the homeowners to pause and enjoy paradise.

KWD Crafts a Fashionable Retreat in Half Moon Bay

For the Craftsmen style estate owned by an active young couple, Kristi Will found her design inspiration in the wife’s love of color, butterflies, and Hermès scarves.  Featured in Modern Luxury Interiors, the three-story house sits on 140-acres in Half Moon Bay. The residence showcases expansive views of golden hills and verdant forests. Nearby a repurposed barn hosts events and fundraisers.  Kristi and her team collaborated with contractor Bryan Falvey for the extensive remodel.  Utilizing a warm color palette throughout the public rooms, the designers grounded the living room with Alexander McQueen's silk rug Monarch Fire while artist Jocelyn Marsh’s Infinite Butterflies box beckons from the open dining room.  Ascending the bronze stairwell to the bedrooms, KWD lined the walls with framed Hermès scarves.

KWD Brings Nature Inside an Aspen Getaway

At the entrance of a contemporary Aspen getaway, Mexican artist Rodrigo de la Sierra’s bronze sculpture greets visitors with two figures cavorting on top of the world.  Inside the walnut and stone abode, Kristi Will mirrored the lush landscape with a color palette inspired by falling autumn leaves for the upstairs great room. The reverse floor plan features overlapping living, dining, kitchen, and family rooms decorated in shades of butter yellow and amber orange.  Kristi out fitted the space with pieces from her favorite vendors including San Francisco’s Marco Fine Furniture for the custom sofas.  The hill behind the house creates a series of terraced exterior rooms for alfresco dining, sunning and swimming.  This stunning property was published in Luxe Interiors + Design Colorado.

KWD Helps Their VIP Clients Fly High

Nothing says 'you've arrived' quite like a private jet.  Kristi and the team were thrilled when a long-time client acquired a new jet.  The project required developing design solutions within the confines of the jet's cabin.

KWD Creates a Serene Beach House in West Marin

After the destruction of the 1906 Earthquake, San Franciscans found a sanctuary in the serene beauty of Stinson Beach.  Over a hundred years later, Kristi Will’s clients escape the chaos of urban life at a private ocean front property. Their 1970’s ranch style home required an extensive remodel to allow for gracious entertaining.  The original great room, with exposed beams and expansive windows, needed an update.  In the gutted kitchen, cabinetmaker Shaum Sinawi cleverly added food storage by concealing refrigerator drawers in a buffet.  To host visitors, the team added a detached three-bedroom guesthouse and garage.  Kristi’s color palette of sand and sea unifies the compound’s interior and exterior spaces.

Kristi Will Designs a Vacation Home in St. Helena

Sheltered in a St. Helena oak grove, the farmhouse style vacation home includes an outdoor swimming pool with poolside cabana.  For the open layout of the house’s ground floor, Kristi Will selected an oyster backdrop complimented by iridescent shades of green, blue, and gray. Near the foyer, John Pomp’s hand blown glass pendants cast an ethereal glow on the live edge walnut dining table by wood worker Thomas Fetherston.  The pendant form carries over to the adjacent kitchen where KWD installed Artistic Tile’s Estrella Silver Glass Mosaic as the backsplash.  A cupola crowns the living space admitting natural light over a U shaped sectional sofa from A.Rudin.  Eglomise artist Cassandra Blackmore’s abstract shattered glass painting echoes the aquatic color scheme.  Outside the cerulean pool beckons.

KWD Transforms an Embarcadero Condominium

For the complete renovation of an Embarcadero condominium, Kristi Will joined the dream team of Case + Abst Architects and Matarozzi Pelsinger Builders.  California Home + Design profiled the project, an urban oasis hidden behind a brick façade.  Originally compartmentalized, the team opened up the first floor by removing walls to create a contiguous living, dining and kitchen space.  A dual- sided fireplace with bronze surround centers the room.  Kristi employed a neutral color palette throughout the condo to give it unity.  Adjacent to the great room sits the library while aluminum framed pocket doors conceals the home office. The wood and steel stairway leads to the master suite, which includes a designated craft room with loom and colorful yarns.

KWD Streamlines a Tudor Style House

The coastal town of Half Moon Bay offers a unique living experience:  oceanic beauty and rural settings all within urban proximity.   An athletic family with three teenagers found their perfect home there.  Overlooking a Scottish inspired golf course with dramatic seascapes, the Tudor style residence provides both privacy and community.  For the wood paneled living room Kristi Will selected a contemporary color scheme of driftwood and teal.  A foliate pendant punctuates the primary seating group of an L shaped sectional backed by a console table of thick glass and chrome.

In the compass window a banquette hugs the wall centered by a cast aluminum dining table.  KWD echoed the warm gray green hue in a paler shade for the dining room.  Clear Murano glass chandeliers sparkle along with dinner conversations.
